Keyrus US Employee Benefits Overview

At Keyrus, we invest in our employees’ well-being. All full-time employees receive full medical, retirement, time-off, and a slew of miscellaneous benefits. 

You’ll see a number of references on this page to Justworks. That’s a 3rd party SaaS software intended for companies our size to outsource for payroll, benefits, HR, and compliance. Our employees love seeing everything in one place.

Flexible Spending Account

Use pre-tax dollars to pay for out-of-pocket healthcare or dependent care expenses. FSA contributions are directly deducted from your payroll, so you don’t have to worry about extra admin.

Retirement Benefits

Retirement benefits are immediately vested and accrue from day one through Slavic401k which is integrated with Justworks. Easily plan for your retirement by making 401(k) contributions directly from your paycheck and have them reflected in your W-2 for easy admin during tax season. Company Match: 100% of the first 3%; 50% of the next 2%.

 

Time Off Policies

Responsible Time Off (RTO) policy for Vacation & Sick Days: Rather than a hard limit of vacation and sick days, Keyrus asks employees to average around 22 vacation + sick days per year. This allows for flexibility to exceed that number when needed. Employees can track their time off in Replicon, our timesheet system. Employees who noticeably exceed this 22-day target may be asked to stay under it the following year to ensure that their average is on target over a period of a few years. All time off must be approved by managers, and around 99% of requests are approved. Keyrus also observes nine federal holidays.

Short-term disability (STD): Through Justworks, Keyrus enrolls all of our FTEs in Short-term Disability Insurance from MetLife. This protects employees who have been injured or fallen ill outside of work for between 7 days and 26 weeks. (Note: if you become injured while at work, we are also required to have “Workers’ Compensation” insurance too.) STD insurance will pay 50% of salary up to a maximum amount. There is no cost to the employee for this insurance.

Long-term disability (LTD): Through Justworks, Keyrus enrolls all of our FTEs in Long-term Disability Insurance from MetLife. This protects employees who have been injured or fallen ill outside of work for over 26 weeks. LTD insurance will pay 50% of salary up to a maximum amount. There is no cost to the employee for this insurance.

Pregnancy: Firstly, all employees are eligible for 6 weeks of STD benefits unless otherwise provided for by state or local law. Employees who have been with Keyrus at least 6 months are also entitled to 6 additional weeks of paid time off at 100% of their current salary. Following those 6 or 12 weeks, employees are also eligible to take up to an additional 12 weeks of unpaid leave. This will also run concurrently with FMLA. 

Parental: The purpose of paid parental leave is to enable the employee to care for and bond with a newborn, a newly adopted, or foster child. It is only available to employees who have been with Keyrus for 6 months. Keyrus allows 2 weeks of fully paid parental leave following the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a new child. 

Other Leave Policies: Keyrus does have other leave policies for bereavement, director-approved time off (usually after unusually high-stress times), voting, and jury duty time.

 

Career Development Opportunities

Separate from all training that Keyrus provides our employees during their day job (we provide a lot of that!) some employees choose to study work-related topics on their own time. 

Short Courses: Employees will be fully reimbursed for an investment in any reputable online training course (Udemy, Coursera, etc), provided it is directly relevant to work at Keyrus, is under $100, and the employee has completed their work with any prior training courses. For courses not directly related to work at Keyrus or over $100, employees should discuss with their managers before embarking. 

Tuition: Modest reimbursements are allowed for directly relevant coursework up to $1,000 per semester, max of $6,000 per employee. Reimbursements are paid upon proof of completion. Only employees who have been with Keyrus for 1 year are eligible, and the reimbursement must be refunded if the employee leaves Keyrus within 6 months of the reimbursement.

Supplemental Life Insurance: Through Justworks, this insurance policy from MetLife gives you extra peace of mind, including automatic deductions for easy admin.

Commuter Benefits: Through Justworks, Keyrus offers all of our employees Commuter Benefits from WageWorks. Employees who choose to enroll can use tax-free funds to pay for parking and public transportation-such as train, subway, bus, ferry, trolley, or vanpool-as part of their daily commute to work.

TicketsAtWork: Corporate discount offers for things like movie tickets, theme parks, concerts, Broadway shows, festivals, sporting events, and more!

Profit Share: At the end of each year, we take a small % of our profit and give it back to our consultants based on the amount of time they have been at the company. In 2021 that number was $119 per month. Senior employees with a variable component of their compensation are excluded.
