Well-Architected Review

Are You Well-Architected?

AWS advanced tier services partner

Keyrus will work with you to conduct a free AWS Well-Architected Review, evaluating architectures for high-risk issues, and then making recommendations and offering improvement plans that are based on AWS Well-Architected best practices.

Keyrus’ Well-Architected Review Process

Our unique process includes a streamlined interview, comprehensive architecture reviews, and a detailed report with a high-level remediation plan.

Goals

Our primary goal with a Well-Architected Review is to identify your major pain points and the failure modes that will cause the biggest problems. Whether your system is small and you want to focus on reliability and security, or it’s large and you want to prioritize operational excellence and performance, we’ve got you covered.

Before the review

We’ll work with you to collect vital information about the scope of your project, such as how large your compute, storage, and data transfer is, and what other data centers or clouds connect to your system, if any.

Beginning the WAR meeting

We’ll ask you a series of comprehensive questions to go over your current workload and see how we can improve it.

After the meeting

At this point, we’ll take what we’ve learned and begin the analysis. We’ll select a pillar priority, identify the top 25% of problems to resolve, and create a report that summarizes your paint points, how we’ll fix these issues, and the required resources. Once the WAR report is submitted, we can get started on resolving your biggest issues.

The Six Pillars of the Well-Architected Framework as defined by AWS

Operational excellence

Your systems need excellent automation, well-known policies, and team cohesion. This pillar focuses on continuously improving processes and procedures.

Reliability

Does your workload perform the intended functions? How do you recover from failures? In this pillar, we focus on topics like recovery planning and adapting to requirement changes.

Cost optimization

What steps are you taking to manage cost? Do you regularly stay informed on new products or technology that can be used to reduce costs? Our team can help you identify areas for cost savings.

Security

How are you securing your workload? We’ll look at a wide range of factors, such as access and user management, temporary credentials, and how you secure your data.

Performance efficiency

Have you allocated resources effectively and efficiently? We’ll help you optimize resource types and sizes for workload performance to maintain efficiency as you evolve.

Sustainability

In this pillar we focus on minimizing environmental impacts of running cloud workloads. Specifically, we’ll maximize utilization to minimize the required resources and reduce downstream impacts.

Realize the value of implementing AWS architectural best practices

Gain an understanding of the pros and cons that apply to the decisions made when designing and building systems on AWS. By following the guidance provided by the AWS Well-Architected Framework and Keyrus, you will be able to measure your architectures against proven best practices, and more rapidly identify areas that may need improvement. From there, you can subsequently develop and implement improvement plans that will help reduce your workloads.
